Breakup ( Kate Shugak #7 ), by Dana Stabenow

Originally posted on my Facebook page April 19, 2012.  Couldn't resist sharing it here and thus saving it. It remains one of my favorite Stabenow books, btw.

"Just finished re-reading Dana Stabenow's "Breakup" again. Dana, this was the first book of yours that I ever read and I even remember where I bought it, the gift shop in Denali Park while waiting to go out on one of the wildlife tour buses. That was om 2000. I didn't read it until later, which is probably just as well as I probably wouldn't have been as enthralled to see grizzly bears that first time as I was. Shiver.

Loved that Kate was such a multi-dimensional character with her own demons and strengths and sense of responsibility. Bottom line, folks, if you haven't discovered Dana's Kate Shugiak series, this one will hook you. Grizzly bears, jet engines falling on your cabin, and dead bodies turning up in the first few pages do tend to grip your attention."
